Chairman

Edwin Koot - CEO, Solarplaza

Edwin Koot has been active in the Solar Energy business since 1994. Through his own companies Ekomation and Easysolar Edwin built up a lot of practical knowledge about the Dutch national situation and the international solar energy market.

With the foundation of his company Solarplaza in 2004, Edwin started building a broad informationplatform focused on the international solar energy market and the expansion of his large network of contacts and relations. By organizing international conferences and trade missions to production facilities; publishing in-depth market reports and supporting businesses in finding valuable contacts, Solarplaza has positioned itself as an important player in the PV industry.

Henning Wicht - Senior Director and Principal Analyst Photovoltaics iSuppli

A well-respected technology expert and business leader, Henning Wicht has performed numerous syndicated and custom research assignments in microelectronics and photovoltaics. He was the founder and president of WTC - Wicht Technologie Consulting, acquired by iSuppli in April 2008. At iSuppli, Henning is responsible for directing the photovoltaics (PV) service.

Henning has been involved in the marketing of microsystem technology and electronics since 1993 when he joined CEA-LETI. In 1996, he was tasked with establishing CEA Germany.

Arturo Herrero - Chief Marketing Officer, Jinko Solar

Mr. Arturo Herrero is the chief marketing officer of JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd.. Mr. Herrero Joined JinkoSolar as Chief Strategy Officer in March 2010. Prior to that, he served as vice president of sales and marketing of Trina Solar Limited, a company listed on the NYSE, from August 2007 to January 2010 and director of Trina Solar Limited from September 2006 to July 2007. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Herrero held different positions in BP Solar, with the latest one as global procurement manager. Mr. Herrero received his degree in economics and business administration from the University of Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain in 1996, his degree in electrical engineering from Polytechnics University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain in 1996, and his master’s degree in marketing from Instituto Superior de Marketing in Barcelona, Spain in 2001.

Ash Sharma - Senior Research Director PV Group, IMS Research

Ash Sharma is the Senior Research Director for IMS Research’s PV Research Group overseeing the entire group’s activities in this field and leading a team of analysts based in the UK, US and China. Ash joined IMS Research in 2004 and has been an active commentator on the industry since then, and was responsible for establishing IMS Research's PV Research Group in early 2006, by publishing the industry's first and still leading intelligence report on the global PV inverter market.
Aside from covering all aspects of the PV supply chain, Ash has also been responsible for leading IMS Research's Power & Energy Research Group which covers almost every segment of the power electronics industry, including power generation, power conversion, control and management. Ash has in the past been heavily involved in the power supply and power semiconductor areas, having authored several syndicated research reports and is a well-known figure within the power electronics sector, regularly publishing articles and editorials.

Daniela Schreiber - Director, EuPD Research

A well-known and highly respected solar industry expert, Daniela Schreiber, Director at EuPD Research, avails of in-depth knowledge and know-how of key European markets as well as US, Chinese and Indian markets. She has successful accompanied major multinationals entering new solar markets and developed strategies enabling established corporations to strengthen their market positioning, grow their businesses and excel on the solar stage. Her track record spans the successful completion of numerous projects ranging from business development strategies to brand management.
In addition to being awarded an MBA by the Bradford School of Management, she also holds an M.A in Communications and Economics and studied at University of California, Berkeley as well at the London School of Economics.

Joseph Berwind - Managing Partner & Founder, Alternative Energy Investing

Joseph Berwind has ten years of industry experience includes chemical market research and institutional sales at Marubeni Corporation, one of Japan's leading general trading companies with offices in 83 countries, managing global product distribution and manufacturing for Japan's top firms. During Joe’s six years on Wall Street, the hedge fund he helped manage at Bourgeon Capital Management, LLC where he was a Partner returned greater than 50% (2000-2005). Joe's three areas of research and investment focus were alternative energy, commodity and specialty chemicals and technology. Joe is the author of Investing In Solar Stocks published by McGraw Hill 2009.

Germany

Thomas Chrometzka - Head of International Affairs, BSW-Solar

Thomas Chrometzka started his carreer as Programme Manager of the „European Master in Renewable Energy“, a study programme administered by the “European Renewable Energy Research Centres Agency” (EUREC) in Brussels in 2007. Later that year he changed to the German Solar Industry Association in Berlin where he took up this job as International Affairs Officer. At BSW-Solar, Thomas worked on European projects, solar policy analysis and global PV market development.
In 2009, Thomas became Head of International Affairs at BSW-Solar, responsible for promoting the German Solar Industry abroad and contributing to creating favorable framework conditions for solar globally. Thomas is the coordinator of a European project “PV LEGAL” aiming at removing bureaucratic barriers for PV system installations in Europe.

Italy

Vincenzo Quintani - Member of GIFI/ANIE Board / Sales Director Southern Europe, Suntech Power

Vincenzo Quintani is a member of the GIFI board. GIFI is the Italian Photovoltaic Industries association, part of ANIE Federation (Confindustria). GIFI has 140 associated companies, PV key players acting in all steps of supply chain and representing 50% of the national market.
Furthermore, Quintani is Suntech Power's Sales Director for Southern Europe. Suntech Power Holdings Co. LTD is the world’s largest manufacturer of crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules.
In his role Vincenzo directs and coordinates Suntech's sales activities in Italy, Spain and Portugal, building a solid sales network able to manage and support national and international strategic partners active in the Southern Europe.

USA

Shyam Mehta - Senior Solar Analyst, Greentech Media Research

Shyam Mehta is a Senior Analyst at GTM Research, focusing on global solar markets.
Before joining GTM Research, Shyam was a Financial Analyst at Goldman Sachs Global Investment Research where he covered equities in the alternative energy sector, primarily solar companies. Prior to Goldman, Shyam was a Research Analyst at The Brattle Group, an economic consulting firm, where his work focused on problems within the electricity industry.
Shyam received his Bachelor's in Mathematics from U.C. Berkeley.

Izumi Kaizuka - Overseas Manager, RTS Corporation

RTS Corporation is a Japanese consulting firm specialized in photovoltaic (PV) power generation.
Founded in 1983, RTS has nearly 30 years of history and experiences in research and data analysis on PV-related matters including government measures, technical development, industry status and trends of PV market both at home and abroad.

China

Alex Zhu - Head of Global Product Strategy(GPS), Suntech Power 

Alex Zhu is Head of Global Product Strategy(GPS) of Suntech Power, the world largest crystalline silicon solar module manufacturer. He is responsible for all Suntech product lines, and in charge of product roadmap and product portfolio management.  Before Suntech, Alex co-funded a Semiconductor start-up in Silicon Valley where he successfully raised VC financing from leading VC companies and established operation in China & USA. Prior to that, Alex is one of the funding members of the Frankel Commercialization Fund, which is the early stage technology fund focusing on incubating technology from Michigan into successful product. Before that, Alex worked in different management and technical positions in various semiconductor companies like NVIDIA, UMC & Micron. Alex got his B.Sc from Fudan University in Shanghai, M.Sc from National University of Singapore and MBA from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Australia

Steve Blume - Senior Adviser to Simon Corbell MLA

Steve Blume is a highly regarded political adviser, former private sector executive, policy creator, management consultant and business manager.
Steve is currently Senior Adviser Climate Change, Environment, Water & Energy to Simon Corbell MLA, Minister for Climate Change, Environment & Water and Minister for Energy in the Australian Government.
Blume's career compromises three stages: he has worked in public service for 16 years as a Senior Policy Analyst and Senior Project Manager; has held a privately own company in ITC-consultancy for 14 years; and 6 years as a Political & Policy Adviser.

Republic of Korea

Seongho Lee - Vice President, Korean Photovoltaic Industry Association (KOPIA)

Seong-Ho Lee was Head of the New & Renewable Energy Center (Affiliate body of KEMCO), for which he has worked.( 2004- 2008).
For 11 years (1991-2002), he pursued his career as a political civil servant serving as Organizing Director of the Democratic Party(1991-1994), City Councilor on Seoul Metropolitan Council (1995-2002).
He was involved with a number of civil society environmental organizations including Pollution Banishment Movement, Korea Federation for Environmental Movement and Green Transport before moving to the Center to further his interest in energy and environmental matters.
Lee is a strong proponent of the need for more sustainable energy systems, and is a regular contributor to the technical press, as well as making frequent appearances at NRE events as an expert on the subject.

France

Thierry Lepercq - Chairman, Solairedirect

Thierry Lepercq is the Chairman of Solairedirect. He is in charge of the solar power plant program and finance packages and contributes his expertise in the creation and development of technology sector businesses, financial engineering and partnership and merger negotiations. After a career in merchant banking specialising in the field of high-technology (Bankers Trust, Banque Arjil, Oddo), he founded NetsCapital, the first financial institution specialising in technology firms, in 1999. This was followed in 2003 by the creation of Novatio Partners, a specialist consultancy focusing on energy sector innovations. Most notably, he was responsible for coordinating the work of the Réseau Innovation Energie network which brought together top energy specialists and venture capitalists.

India

Vivek Chaturvedi - Sr. Vice President Global Sales and Marketing, Moser Baer Photovoltaic

Vivek has had spearheaded sales and marketing functions of different business units at Moser Baer prior to his current assignment in Solar business. Starting with Optical Media business where he was responsible for global sales and marketing function, he established Moser Baer footprint in over 80 countries and established several strategic alliances for market reach. His next stint was in establishing pan-India distribution network for Moser Baer Entertainment business; where he also established strong alliances with Hollywood for the Media & Entertainment Services business. Subsequently he joined Moser Baer Photovoltaic Limited in 2008 and in a quick span of 18 months established Moser Baer’s presence in over 15 countries, in addition to developing a pan-India network to service the growing Indian markets for both grid connected and off-grid applications.
Vivek is also the Co-Chair of FICCI Solar Energy Task Force, an industry forum on Solar Energy. The Task Force works closely with Government of India in developing appropriate policy framework and expert advice with regard to technology and global experiences.
Vivek has over 18 years of work experience in various technology intensive industry. Prior to Moser Baer, Vivek was heading the Integrated Marketing function at Xerox India.
